A permanent anchor must have an ultimate load capacity of at least 22.2 kN (5000 lbf) for each person connected, be inspected and tested at least once a year per CSA Z91-02 (R2013) with the results documented, and be certified by a professional engineer along with its installation.
Temporary anchors
Removed from service immediately after use. Minimum ultimate load capacity 12 kN (2700 lbf) per person connected. 14 recorded this year. No annual obligation.
System limit
A rope access system must limit maximum arrest force to not more than 6 kN (1350 lbf).
